Remove Request Headers Policy

This policy can be used by the API Gateway to remove headers from a request, when passing through the proxy, before hitting the backend service. The headers can be provided by the client or another policy.

Example

Suppose you have a backend service that handles the requests in a different way depending on the headers that it includes, or has security concerns regarding the headers that it receives. You can intercept the message and remove specific headers to give it a different priority, group, or just clean the headers map.

Configuration

After adding the custom policy to API Platform, you can apply it in your API.

When applying, you need to set a field where you can include the header name or names to be removed. You can add multiple headers by separating each header with a comma.

After you finish including your headers, click Apply and the policy starts working (if you have an API Gateway already paired to your API).

You can also edit these parameters whenever you want, by clicking the Edit button.
